Report: Man stole a gun, a knife, cash from vehicles
A homeless man is accused of stealing weapons from vehicles in the Silver Creek area.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Joseph Matthew Wheeler entered two vehicles on Woodruff Street, taking a 9 mm pistol and a knife.
Wheeler also entered two vehicles on Jack Street nearby, taking around $50 in cash.
He was also found with a small baggie containing suspected methamphetamine at a location on Nelson Street.
Wheeler is charged with four counts of entering an automobile, theft by taking, and possession of meth.
Man charged with terroristic threats and acts, affray
A 43-year-old Silver Creek man was arrested on Labor Day following an incident at a gas station at Booze Mountain Road and Park Avenue in Lindale.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Albert Eugene Barger entered the business and grabbed a Cedartown man, putting him in a headlock.
Barger also threatened to shoot the victim.
Barger is charged with a felony count of terroristic threats and acts and misdemeanor counts of affray and simple battery.
Report: Man arrested for criminal trespass found with cocaine at the jail
A 40-year-old Rome man was arrested early Tuesday on charges of criminal trespass, possession of cocaine, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Erik Cordero Morillon went to a residence on Lyons Drive, where his partner was staying with a friend, and smashed a bedroom window with his hands.
During processing at the jail, Morillon was found with a small bag of cocaine in his pocket.
Woman charged with meth possession
A Shannon area woman was arrested on Callier Springs Road at Tumlin Drive Monday for possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Jennifer Gail Johnson was found with a baggie of suspected meth during a consent search.
Two facing drug charges following traffic stop
A traffic stop at Highway 411 and Sunset Drive Sunday ended with the arrest of two men on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Dakota Storm Pruitt of Cave Spring was driving a vehicle with no license plate and had a suspended driver’s license.
He was also found in possession of suspected oxycontin and Vyvanse, which is a drug used to treat ADHD.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Derek Ryan Hooper of Rome gave police a false name and date of birth.
Both men were charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drugs not in the original container.
