Calhoun man accused of stealing truck, scrapping it

A Calhoun man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on felony charges of theft by taking a motor vehicle and theft by conversion.

According to jail records:

47-year-old Larry Timothy Edwards stole a 2006 Chevy Silverado valued at $2,300 back in August.

He then started dismantling the vehicle and took it to a scrap yard.

Woman charged with identity fraud

A 42-year-old Rome woman was arrested Tuesday on charges of identity fraud, and 2nd-degree forgery.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

Tamela Dawn Brown drove a co-defendant to a bank on Martha Berry Highway where a bank slip order was obtained.

Brown and the other individual obtained $600 by using the financial slip order and the victim’s information at the drive-thru of the bank.

Brown is also charged with executing orders knowing the information is assigned to another account holder.
