Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

Floyd County Commissioners will tackle a full agenda when they meet Tuesday.

The caucus begins at 4 p.m. and will include a presentation from Shelly Womack from the NWGA Landlord Association.

The regular meeting starts at 6 p.m.

The meetings will be held on the second floor of the Floyd County Administration Building on East 4th Avenue.

There will be proclamations for Constitution Week and Georgia Highlands College Day.

Commissioners will then take action on a number of business items.

Consent Agenda

1. Consider a request from Parks and Recreation to approve a $2 admission fee for youth basketball games.

2. Consider the request from Engineering to approve the installation of a speed table at Lake Park Drive

3. Consider a request from Purchasing to award a bid to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC for the GDOT road striping and rumble strips project in the amount of $240,250.

4. Consider a request from the airport to approve a hangar lease with Glavon F. Smith that will expire on July 31, 2027.

5. Consider a request from Parks and Recreation to approve a budget increase for concessions due to an increase in sales this year and to increase prices of select concession items due to increased prices on expenses at Sam’s.

6. Consider a request from Parks and Recreation to increase fees for power and water for pavilion rentals, add a refundable key deposit, increase nightly rates at campsites, increase gymnastics fees, and add two new gymnastics classes.

7. Consider a request from the Tax Commissioner to purge submitted bills from the Tax Commissioner’s roll.

8. Consider a request from the Prison to approve the purchase of equipment using ICSolutions Technology Grant funds.

9. Consider a request from Finance to approve the payment of additional FY 2022 audit costs.

10. Consider a request from Finance to approve budget revisions for the Ricoh copier buyout.

11. Consider a request from Finance to approve a budget revision to hire a temporary employee in Human Resources for the remainder of 2023.

12. Consider a request from Purchasing for approval to deem certain equipment as surplus items to be listed on GovDeals. The equipment has been examined by the Public Works Shop Manager and is considered unsalvageable for Floyd County use.

13. Consider a request from EMA to approve a transfer from the Communications Budget to the EMA operating budget.

1. Consider a request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of a decked tool system for two trucks from Line-X for Parks and Recreation using 2017 SPLOST savings.

2. Consider a request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of a Ford F-250 from Prater Ford for Parks and Recreation using 2017 SPLOST funds.

3. Consider a request from Purchasing to award a bid to Ware Mechanical, Inc. to replace HVAC units for five communication towers using 2017 SPLOST funds.

4. Consider a request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of one cargo van from Hardy Chevrolet for the Floyd County Police Department using 2017 SPLOST funds.

5. Consider a request from Purchasing to award a bid to Saps Construction, LLC for the demolition and installation of handicap ramps and sidewalks in Riverside Village and Lindale using 2017 SPLOST funds.

6. Consider a request from Purchasing to approve the purchase of three 3500, crew cab dump trucks from Donohoo Chevrolet of Fort Payne for Public Works using 2017 SPLOST funds.

7. Consider a request from Purchasing to award a bid to Otto Environm, Inc. for the re-bid of the cat condos for P.A.W.S. using 2017 SPLOST funds.
