Woman accused of kidnapping family member
A 44-year-old Calhoun woman is accused of kidnapping another woman on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Nicole Tyvon Brown was holding a firearm as she forced the victim into a vehicle and held her against her will.
The incident occurred on Jackson Street in Rome.
The victim is a family member of Brown.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A 39-year-old Rome man was jailed Monday on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Matthew Allen Wagner placed his hands on the victim’s neck and applied force.
The incident occurred at Wagner’s residence on North Avery Road.
Inmate facing charges
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is charged with felony counts of obstruction and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, as well as a misdemeanor count of simple battery on a law enforcement officer.
According to Jail records:
38-year-old Stephen Aron Trotter of Cave Spring struck a detention officer in the left eye, leaving a visible mark, and resisted other officers as they were trying to gain control of the situation.
Trotter has been in jail since January after allegedly trying to shoot a dog on Padlock Mountain Road.
Man charged with burglary
A Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree burglary.
According to the warrant:
43-year-old Renderel Duval Adams Jr. entered a residence on East Drive and continuously stole items, which included bank notes, personal identification, tax information and audio equipment.
Adams was also found with items listed on previous burglary reports which were located in the tailgate of his pickup truck.
