Woman accused of breaking into home
A 39-year-old Trion woman has been arrested in the burglary of a home on Huffaker Road Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joanna Marie Doan entered the residence by breaking a window.
She then took keys, a cell phone, and a wallet containing $325 in cash.
Doan also threatened to kill the victim.
In addition to 1st-degree burglary, Doan is charged with terroristic threats and acts.
Three arrested on Flannery Street
The execution of a search warrant at a home on Flannery Street late last week ended with the arrest of three Rome men on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
65-year-old Gregory Dean Pitts and 37-year-old Danny Ray Sullivan were found with over an ounce of cocaine, along with fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
The drugs were all packaged for sale.
Both men are charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to commit a felony, and other offenses.
Meanwhile, 47-year-old Demetrice Jermain Kennedy is charged with possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of officers.
The report states that Kennedy tried to avoid arrest and hide evidence.
Report: Man stole two shotguns from shed
A Rome man is accused of stealing two shotguns from a location on Floyd Springs Road back in October.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Matthew Troy Atkins jumped over a fence and entered a shed on the property, where he took the guns valued at over $1,500 each.
Atkins is charged with 2nd-degree burglary and two counts of felony theft by taking.
He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking after allegedly stealing $500 from another person at an apartment on Martha Berry Highway on November 18.
Man accused of punching and shattering window at business on Dean Avenue
A 47-year-old Rome man is facing a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property after punching a window at a bar on Dean Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
James David Shedd shattered the window at the Sports Page on Dean Avenue when he hit it early Sunday morning.
Report: Man found with marijuana at the jail
A 41-year-old Trion man was booked into the Floyd County Jail early Monday on charges of simple battery, obstruction of officers, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Larry Eugene Williams hit a man in the face at a location on Ash Street.
He then attempted to run from police and refused to drop a weapon after being told to do so by officers.
Once at the jail, Williams was found with suspected marijuana.
Woman charged with shoplifting, criminal trespass, and meth possession
A woman arrested for shoplifting at the East Rome Walmart late last week is also charged with possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
58-year-old Delaina Starr Sutton of Silver Creek hid merchandise in her purse before leaving the store.
She was then found with suspected meth and it was discovered that she had previously been notified to stay off the premises.
Traffic stops with arrest of Cartersville man
A Cartersville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, obstruction of officers, and DUI.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 33-year-old Donshai Marcell Frazier was stopped on Sycamore Street and Ethel Avenue for suspended registration and no insurance.
Frazier then ran from the officer.
A small amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle, along with four tramadol pills, and open alcoholic drinks.
Frazier was additionally charged with open container, and driving on a suspended license.
Third arrest made in connection with a stolen debit card
A Lindale teen has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with being a party to the crime of financial transaction card fraud.
According to the warrant:
18-year-old Shamya Cherrell Smith was present when a stolen credit card was used at the East Rome Walmart on November 20 and admitted she knew the card was stolen.
She is the third person to be arrested in the case.
17-year-old Shianna Marie Escobedo of Silver Creek was arrested last week for financial transaction card fraud while 18-year-old Yordy Murillo Romero, also of Silver Creek, has been charged with entering an automobile and theft by taking.
Jail records state that Romero entered the victim’s vehicle on Redmond Circle and took the wallet containing the debit card.
Warrant: Woman forged community service document
A 27-year-old Rome woman is facing a 1st-degree forgery charge.
According to the arrest warrant:
Amber Renae Johnson was ordered to complete 40 hours of community service for a shoplifting offense.
She only completed 19 hours but forged a signature to a document to claim she had completed her service in an attempt to deceive Rome Municipal Court.
