Man accused of assaulting woman on February 12
A 38-year-old Rome man was arrested Monday at his Chateau Drive apartment on warrants charging him with aggravated assault and battery.
According to the warrants:
Adam Blake Litton put his hands around a woman’s neck causing her to not be able to breathe.
He also punched the victim on the top of her head.
The incidents occurred on February 12.
Litton is also charged with a probation violation.
Report: Man stashed firearm in police car
A Coosa man is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, crossing the guard line at the jail with a weapon, and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Gary Michael Turner was initially arrested after allegedly trespassing on Rebecca Street.
He then stashed a firearm inside a police car, causing it to cross the guard line at the jail.
Man charged with felony shoplifting
A Rome man is accused of stealing a $600 bottle of bourbon.
According to the arrest warrant:
27-year-old Hunter Alan Ward took the bottle of 1924 10-Year Bourbon from Rome Liquor and Tobacco on East Second Avenue on February 21.
Ward is charged with felony theft by shoplifting.
Report: Woman found with hydrocodone during traffic stop
A traffic stop on Booze Mountain Road near Davis Street in Lindale on Monday ended with the arrest of a 59-year-old woman on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Norma Jean Allen of Lindale was initially stopped for running a stop sign.
She was then found with hydrocodone pills and admitted to smoking marijuana about five hours earlier.
Allen is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, DUI, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a stop sign violation.
Taylorsville man facing drug charges
A Taylorsville man was arrested Monday after his room at the Stay Lodge on Dean Avenue was searched by Georgia Department of Community Supervision officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Justin O’Neal Floyd was found with several ounces of marijuana, packaging materials, and digital scales.
He is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.
