Teen accused of assaulting woman

A Resaca teen has been arrested on a felony warrant out of Floyd County charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

18-year-old Dalton Kal-El Scuderi put his hands around a woman’s neck in an attempt to strangle her.

The victim told authorities that she was unable to breathe.

The incident occurred at a residence in northern Floyd County on March 2, 2023.

Woman charged with drug possession, theft by receiving, hit and run

A Cartersville woman was arrested on drug charges after she allegedly fled the scene of an accident in Rome Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Cybil Whitney Baker was suspected to be driving under the influence of drugs.

A search of her vehicle turned up hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and amphetamine salt along with gabapentin and quetiapine not in their original containers.

It was discovered that the hydrocodone and hydromorphone had been stolen from a local hospital.

Baker is charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, and single counts of possession of drugs not in the original container, DUI, hit and run, and theft by receiving stolen property.

Report: Woman kicked officer during arrest at Taco Bell

A woman who had been banned from the Taco Bell on Turner McCall Boulevard was arrested outside the restaurant on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

61-year-old Rhonda Michelle Bingham of Rome was being unruly, yelling and disrupting patrons outside of the establishment.

As she was being handcuffed, she tried to pull away and kicked an officer’s leg.

Bingham is charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction, simple battery against a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.

Report: Man admitted to having fentanyl

A 61-year-old Rome man was jailed Tuesday on a felony count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Boeta Yunervicc Smith had a white, powder-like substance that he stated was fentanyl and suspected fentanyl pills.

Smith was arrested on Highway 411 at Nichols Road.

Homeless man accused of stealing chicken, other items from Walmart

A homeless man is facing a felony theft by shoplifting charge following his arrest Tuesday at the West Rome Walmart.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

62-year-old Anthony Dean Burge Sr. selected chicken from the deli and ate it while still in the store.

He also hid two pairs of men’s jeans and a stereo in his backpack and walked out of the store.

The total value of the chicken, jeans, and stereo was listed at $566.93.

Man charged with felony theft by taking

A 34-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.

According to the warrant:

Christopher Ryan Ingram took more than $1,500 from a man on Padlock Mountain Road in Cave Spring back on October 7, 2022.

Two jailed following fight at high school

Two teens were arrested Tuesday morning following a fight at Pepperell High School.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

18-year-old Xavier Jay Pointer and 19-year-old Braxton Todd Bragg, both of Lindale, are charged with misdemeanor counts of affray.

Both were arrested just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
