A Rome man is facing a felony aggravated assault charge following his arrest Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old William Martin Hudgins got into a physical altercation with a woman at his Hatfield Road apartment.
He then sprayed the victim in the face with an unknown chemical agent, resulting in severe skin irritation and temporary blindness.
Hudgins then fled on foot as officers were speaking to the victim, resulting in additional units and a K9 being brought in to track him down.
Hudgins is additionally charged with obstruction of officers.
