Rome Police responded to a ‘shots fired’ call in West Rome Thursday evening.
According to the incident report:
The responding officer was told that the shots came from the area of Mississippi Drive near Garrard Avenue.
One witness told the officer that a Hispanic male came out of his residence, shot several rounds off, and then walked back inside.
The witness also told police that the man shoots when he drinks.
No one said the man actually shot at anyone and no victims came forward.
The officer went to the residence in an attempt to speak to the Hispanic male, who told police through the door that he had to work in the morning and he was going to sleep.
He then turned the lights off.
Two 9mm shell casings were placed into evidence.
