A packed agenda for Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting.
A number of representatives from the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority are on the agenda to speak.
During a recent housing authority meeting several board members questioned proposed appointments to the authority recommended by the Rome Committee on Committees, citing a lack of communication and diversity.
The commission will also consider a recommendation from the Rome Alcohol Control Commission to access a $2,000 fine and a 90-day suspension of the package license at North Broad Food Mart at 1416 North Broad Street for drinking inside the store.
Second reading of a proposed alcohol ordinance regarding a standard drink price to use for the calculation of the 50-50 food-to-drink ratio is also on the agenda.
Commissioners will conduct a public hearing for a special use permit for an adult daycare center on East 16th Street.
Rezoning requests for property on the North Broad Extension, West Eighth Avenue, and Hardy Avenue are also slated for public hearings.
Monday’s Rome City Commission meeting begins at 6:30 pm at Rome City Hall. The caucus starts at 5 pm in the Sam King Room. The commission is expected to get an update on coin-operated amusement machines during the caucus.
