Woman accused of robbing store at Five Points
A North Rome woman has been arrested in connection with a strong-arm robbery at the Circle K at Five Points.
According to Floyd County Jail records and a Rome Police Department report:
36-year-old Brittany Nichole Matthews went behind the counter at the store and pushed the clerk to get by her.
Matthews took a lighter and cigarettes.
Police located her in the parking lot of Checkers and a foot chase ensued with Matthews running across Turner McCall.
An officer caught up with her, grabbing her by the backpack, which she tried to slide out of.
As Matthews was being handcuffed, she attempted to light a cigarette.
She is charged with robbery, simple battery, and obstruction.
Man accused of selling items he took in a burglary
A 42-year-old Shannon man is accused of entering a business on Shorter Industrial Boulevard and taking several items in March.
According to an arrest warrant:
Rodney Shane McClarty stole automotive diagnostic scanners, a welder, a laptop computer, and various other items, all with a combined value of $8,500.
He then sold some of the stolen items at a pawn shop in Chickamauga.
He is charged with 2nd-degree burglary and theft by deception.
Woman charged with hindering apprehension, disorderly conduct
A Lindale woman is facing a felony count of hindering the apprehension of a criminal following her arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Victoria Lynn Busby lied about a man’s whereabouts knowing that he had warrants for his arrest.
While outside the house on Crescent Avenue, Busby yelled and cursed, resulting in additional charges of obstruction and disorderly conduct.
Warrant: Woman three 211 grams of meth out of her vehicle
A 45-year-old Rosemont Park woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with possession of methamphetamine.
According to the warrant:
Tiffany Deanna Bruce threw 211 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle she was driving on Highway 27 South at Sanders Avenue back on April 12.
Bruce is also charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, and tampering with evidence.
Man charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute
An Armuchee man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Technology Parkway Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
40-year old Joseph Lee Alexander Costlow had three baggies of suspected methamphetamine and a digital scale.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
Report: Adairville man found with oxycodone after striking curb
An Adairsville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, and DUI.
According to jail records:
A vehicle driven by 69-year-old Farron Eugene Autry left the roadway on Martha Berry Boulevard and struck a curb.
During a search, police found several oxycodone tablets that were not prescribed to Autry.
Euharlee man facing drug charges
A 43-year-old Euharlee man was arrested during a traffic stop on Lombardy Way at Flannery Street Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Police stopped a vehicle driven by Robert Allen Byrd for a brake light that was not functioning.
It was then discovered that Byrd’s license was suspended.
He then attempted to discard a baggie of methamphetamine in the back seat of the patrol vehicle.
The meth was located in the sally port at the jail.
Byrd is charged with possession of meth, crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs, tampering with evidence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and a brake light violation.
