Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday for North Georgia

Tuesday, February 18, 2025–11:20 a.m.

-National Weather Service-

Light snow is possible on Wednesday for portions of far north Georgia, warranting the issuance of a Winter Weather Advisory across the northern counties from 1 a.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday.

Light snow is possible for parts of far north Georgia Wednesday morning into the early afternoon.

Uncertainty remains with respect to the potential for light snowfall farther south than the Winter Weather Advisory.

Current most likely snow totals are less than 0.5″ in far north Georgia with a lower potential for amounts up to 1 inch in higher elevations.

Light flurries will be possible across far northeast Georgia late Wednesday night, though no additional accumulations are anticipated.

Unlike the previous winter storms this year, temperatures will be warmer (near to even a few degrees above freezing) during this time frame, limiting overall snow accumulation potential.

Grassy and elevated surfaces would be most likely to be impacted, though some less-traveled and elevated roadways may be impacted in far north Georgia.

Patchy black ice could be possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning where any standing water remains as temperatures drop below freezing.
