Report: Man bit woman’s ear during altercation on Carpenter Road

A Calhoun man is facing a felony aggravated battery charge following an altercation with a woman on Carpenter Road off of Rosedale Road over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

62-year-old Bruce David Smith bit the victim’s ear causing a severe injury.

Man accused of spitting on officer

A 19-year-old Rome man is facing multiple charges following an incident on Chateau Drive at Hampton Boulevard on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joshua White damaged a woman’s apartment and then resisted arrest, kicking one police officer and spitting in the face of another.

He also threatened to kill two officers and beat up two others.

While resisting, White also damaged an officer’s radio microphone.

White is charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement, simple battery on a police officer, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, interference with government property, terroristic threats and acts, and public drunk.

Man charged with fleeing or attempting to elude

A Silver Creek man is accused of fleeing from police as they attempted to pull him over on Garden Lakes Boulevard in March of last year.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Officers were attempting to stop a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Christopher Daniel Pruitt because he had active warrants and charges pending against him.

Pruitt took off, weaving in and out of traffic at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour in the rain.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, running a stop sign, speeding, too fast for conditions, driving in the central lane, obstruction, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and a probation violation.

Man accused of grabbing woman by the neck

A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on charges of aggravated assault and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Marquel Delano Gibson grabbed a woman by the throat and pushed her down onto a bed.

The incident, which occurred on Woodruff Street in Silver Creek, was witnessed by a child.

Woman facing a fugitive charge

A Lindale woman was arrested at a location on Gray Rock Drive Sunday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, giving a false name or address, and failure to appear in court.

32-year-old Kayle Breeann Moses is also charged with being a fugitive from justice and is also being held for authorities in Cherokee County, Alabama.

She is also charged with possession of items prohibited for an inmate.
