Woman charged with aggravated assault
A West Rome woman was jailed Wednesday following an incident on Superba Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year old Stephanie Renee Cruz used her hands to strangle a woman.
Cruz is charged with aggravated assault.
Warrant: Woman stole from fast food restaurant
A Lindale woman is accused of stealing close to $2,500 from Hardee’s on Turner McCall Boulevard.
According to an arrest warrant:
47-year-old Penny Belinda Stroud took deposits belonging to the restaurant on February 10 and February 11.
She is charged with felony theft by taking.
Man charged with child cruelty
A 32-year-old West Rome man is facing a felony 1st-degree child cruelty charge in connection with an incident on Green and Gold Boulevard in North Rome back on November 24.
According to an arrest warrant:
Devon Franklin Jones Jr. put his fingers in the face of a 12-year old, called her a name, threatened to kill her, and slap her.
Jones is also charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and a probation violation.
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force arrests one during drug bust
The execution of a search warrant at a residence on Tamassee Lane netted the arrest of a Rome man on drug charges Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year old Demone Devone Jones was found in possession of methamphetamine and less than an ounce of marijuana.
A glass smoking device with residue was also found in close proximity.
Jones is charged with possession of meth, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
