Man accused of choking woman while driving
A 39-year-old Rome man was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly choked a woman while inside a moving vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The victim, who sustained dark bruising on each side of her neck, told officers that she was unable to breathe during the incident.
Claude Thomas Kinnebrew was also found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.
Kinnebrew is charged with aggravated assault, DUI, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Warrant: Man assaulted woman in his home
A Rome man is accused of assaulting a woman at his Mossy Oaks Lane address earlier this week.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Cortes Warren Mayville shoved a woman to the floor, held her down by putting his knee on her chest and strangled her.
Mayville is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and battery.
Man charged with theft by deception
A Lindale man is accused of selling a shed that was in the process of being repossessed.
According to an arrest warrant:
39-year-old Terry Lane Ferguson Jr. gave the buyer the impression that the shed was his to sell.
The victim then lost $3,100 due to the building being in repo status.
Ferguson is charged with a felony count of theft by deception.
He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass after being located at a property on Teat Street after being advised not to return.
Man accused of having large amounts of cocaine, marijuana
A North Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest on Turner McCall Boulevard on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year-old Tyrone Holloway was found with several baggies of marijuana and a large quantity of crack cocaine.
He is charged with felony possession of marijuana and cocaine, as well as possession of marijuana and cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Adairsville man charged in theft of dirt bike
An arrest has been made in the theft of a dirt bike from an Adairsville woman
According to an arrest warrant:
37-year-old Jeremy Lloyd Erwin of Adairsville took the dirt bike, valued at $1,500, in October of last year and did not attempt to return it to the owner.
He is charged with a felony count of theft by taking.
