More candidates qualified to run for the Rome City Commission and Rome City School Board on Thursday.
For the Rome City Commission, in Ward Two, Vic Hixon has qualified.
He previously ran for city commission in 2021, and he joins Elaina Beeman, Jamie Doss, Jill Fisher, and Randy Quick in the 2025 field.
For the Rome City Board of Education, Brenda Boyd qualified on Thursday, along with incumbent Will Byington.
The other candidates are Toni Blanchard, Faith Collins, Marquita Davis, Karl Gyden, Alvin Jackson, and Ron Roach.
Friday is the final day of qualifying.
Qualifying is from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Rome City Clerk’s Office at city hall.
The fee to run is $360 for the city commission and $180 for the school board.
