Thursday morning, the Rome-Floyd community gathered at the Firefighters Memorial Plaza behind City Hall to honor the lives lost on September 11th, 2001.
WRGA’s Doug Walker emceed the service, sharing reflections on the tragic events of that day.
The ceremony also paid tribute to Corporal Garrett Kent, a Rome firefighter who died in a car accident in 2023. His father, along with Fire Chief Troy Brock, laid a memorial wreath in his honor.
