Man charged with aggravated assault
A Rome man is facing a felony charge following an incident at his Willow Drive residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
40-year-old Randy Wade Vick choked a woman during an altercation on Thursday.
He is charged with aggravated assault.
Man charged with child cruelty
A Powder Springs man was recently booked into the Floyd County Jail on warrants charging him with two counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children and two counts of battery.
According to the warrants:
28-year-old Cameron Alexander Major yanked two children up from the couch by their arms, threw them, and repeatedly punched the 2-year-old and 4-year-old.
Major also left marks on one of the juveniles by punching him in the chest.
The incident occurred on September 10 at an apartment in Warren Road and it was caught on an in-home camera system.
Man facing drugs, weapons charges
A 36-year-old Rome man is accused of conspiring with another person to sell illegal narcotics.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The conversations between Eric Dennis McConnell and the other individual were recorded over the phone system at the jail.
McConnell, who is a convicted felon, was also found with a firearm and attempted to hide in a closet in an apartment on Dodd Boulevard.
He was found with less than an ounce of marijuana once he was removed from the closet.
He is charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and a probation violation.
