Man arrested in Home Depot theft
A Lithia Springs man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony.
According to the arrest warrants:
33-year-old Erin Jamal Birdsong conspired with another man to take property belonging to Home Depot on Hicks Drive back in May with no intention of returning it.
He intended to sell the property, but it was recovered by Tallapoosa Police before it could be sold.
Birdsong is also charged with theft by deception, theft by conversion, and theft by taking.
Man accused of shoplifting more than $2K in hardware
A man from Conley, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday on a felony count of theft by shoplifting.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Jabiel Kariam Hasan selected various hardware items valued at $2,462.64 at the Home Depot on Hicks Drive.
He then walked past all the registers without paying.
Man charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
A Lindale man has been arrested by Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers on a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Roger Carter Weems was found with five firearms at his Old Cedartown Road home.
Weems is also being held on a probation violation.
Man arrested on drug charges during traffic stop
A 47-year-old Villa Rica man was arrested at a location on North Broad Street on Tuesday and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Clyde Gregory Stevens was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for an expired tag.
A K9 indication led to the discovery of marijuana and a prescription pill bottle not belonging to Stevens, which contained alprazolam.
