Man charged with battery, child cruelty
A homeless man was arrested on Wednesday following an incident on Nelson Street in Silver Creek.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year-old Anthony Stephen Baxter forced entry into the residence, hitting a 30-year-old woman with the door, causing a bruise to her hand.
There was also a minor in the home who witnessed the incident.
Baxter is charged with battery and 1st-degree cruelty to children.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A South Rome man has been arrested in the alleged assault of a woman at his Harper Avenue home on Sunday.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Damion Malik Frazier strangled the victim, leaving bruises on her neck.
As officers were serving an arrest warrant for Frazier on Wednesday, he attempted to hide in his residence.
Frazier is charged with aggravated assault, obstruction of officers, and a probation violation.
Report: Man found with cocaine at jail
A West Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest on Shorter Avenue on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Cornelius Maurice Kindred was found in possession of cocaine and a razor blade.
He also attempted to conceal a scale and was found with cocaine once at the jail.
He is charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of drugs by an inmate, as well as a probation violation.
Woman accused of disrupting a school bus
A Celanese woman has been arrested on a misdemeanor warrant charging her with disrupting the operation of a school bus.
According to the warrant:
40-year-old Jacki Nikole Angelillo drove her vehicle in front of the bus, blocking and stopping it at the intersection of Dogwood Street and Hickory Street.
After stopping the bus, Angelillo attempted to make the driver open the door, causing the driver to fear for the safety of the students on board.
The incident occurred on October 30.
Students charged with possession of a vape product
Two students were arrested on misdemeanor charges on Wednesday during an administrative search at the Floyd County College and Career Academy.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Tristin James McBurnett attempted to hide a vape in a cabinet during the search.
It tested positive for THC.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Tylan Kemon Owens was found with a vape in his pocket, which also tested positive for THC.
Both McBurnett and Owens are charged with possession of vape product by a person under the age of 21 and possession of a vape in a school safety zone.
