The Rome City Commission has approved a slight increase in garbage fees for 2026.
According to Rome City Manager Sammy Rich, the increase amounts to about 3 percent for residential customers.
“If you are a subscriber of a 65-gallon trash can, it’s currently $10.62,” he said. As you see, it goes to $11. If you are a 95-gallon subscriber, it’s currently $17.03. It will go up to $17.60. For yard waste, which I would argue is the best deal in town, $1.72 will go up to $1.80.”
