Woman accused of entering home, threatening victim
A Garden Lakes woman was jailed Tuesday on charges of 1st-degree burglary, terroristic threats and acts, aggravated stalking, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
57-year-old Kris Marlen Brumit entered a residence without permission in violation of a temporary protective order.
She then told the victim she would kill her if she called the police.
Once at the jail, Brumit was found with a small amount of marijuana.
Inmate facing charges
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges of battery and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
According to jail records:
42-year-old Jamar Shantay Finley was seen on security cameras, punching another inmate multiple times.
Finley has been in jail since June, when he was arrested on charges of possession and the sale of fentanyl.
Stop sign violation leads to drug arrest
A Coosa man is facing drug charges following his arrest by Rome Police on Avenue B and 11th Avenue on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Alan De’Won Lyles was stopped after failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
Police found suspected marijuana, digital scales, and several plastic baggies.
He was then found in possession of two baggies of crack cocaine during the booking process at the jail.
Lyles is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, possession of drugs by an inmate, stop sign and yield sign violations, and a probation violation.
