A Rome man was jailed on Monday after he allegedly picked up a television and hit a family member in the head with it, causing the victim to see stars.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
21-year-old Avant Deshawn Fleetwood also hit the woman in the face with a gaming system.
The victim sustained bumps on the head and cuts to her wrists.
The incident occurred in the presence of a juvenile, and Fleetwood ran from the police to avoid being taken into custody.
He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, 1st-degree criminal damage to property, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.
Fleetwood is also being held on a probation violation.
