Man charged with fleeing, DUI and child endangerment
A Rockmart man is accused of fleeing from police with a two-year-old child in his vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Jhajuan J. Washington was speeding in the area of Highway 101 and Shiflett Road.
He then fled into Polk County before stopping and fighting with police.
Washington is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI, endangering a child while DUI, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, obstruction of officers, speeding, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Woman accused of making threat, confining person in home
A Rome woman was jailed early Tuesday on charges of simple battery, terroristic threats and acts, false imprisonment, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year-old Haeley Marie Waters caused bodily harm to and threatened to kill the victim.
She also detained the victim by blocking the doorway.
All this occurred in the presence of a child.
Man charged with drug possession
A Callier Springs Road man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.
According to the warrants:
56-year old Jonathan Richard Duke Sr. was found with cocaine and meth during a traffic stop for a window tint violation back on May 6 at Highway 53 at Burlington Road.
Woman arrested during traffic stop
A Cedartown woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Highway 27 South at Walker Mountain Road on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Lena Nicole Lay was found with a crystal-like substance and was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
