For 75 years, the Coosa Valley Fair has marked the beginning of fall for the residents of Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama.
The fair opens Tuesday with a Grand Opening Special from 5 until 6 p.m. where carloads will be admitted for $10 (no cars or vans and cash only).
There will also be $30 armbands for unlimited rides.
The flower show, homemaking, photography, and art exhibits open at 5 p.m. as does the Coosa Valley Village building.
The main event for opening day is the Coosa Valley Fair Cheerleading Exhibition & Spirit Competition, which begins at 7 p.m.
Other attractions include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and Michael Frisbee Magic, both with performances at 6 and 8 p.m.
You can catch the World of Wonders Show at 7 and 9 p.m.
Known as “Fall’s Finest Festival,” the Fair has been continuously sponsored by the Exchange Club of Rome since its founding in 1949.
