Monday morning Rome and Floyd County residents gathered at the Coosa Valley Fairground to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
The Exchange Club of Rome hosted a Memorial Day service featuring the Exchange Quintet, the Rome Fire Department Honor Guard, the American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard, and a wreath ceremony at their replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Solider.
The Memorial Day service also a featured speaker; retired Brigadier General Shawn Harris.
