Warrant: Man hit woman in the face with a handgun, kept her from leaving residence
A 24-year-old Rome man has been arrested on felony charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, and false imprisonment.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Charles Russell Reams III held a woman against her will at his Pine Street residence on January 2.
He also struck the woman in the face with a handgun, causing bruising, swelling, and a busted lip, and he put his hands around the victim’s neck and began to squeeze.
The Taurus 9mm used in the assault had been reported stolen.
Reams was additionally charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving a stolen firearm, and battery.
Man charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute
A 39-year-old Rome man was arrested over the weekend on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Dam Keith Sprayberry was seen by an officer dealing drugs in the parking lot of a store at East 19th Street and Maple Avenue.
Meth was found on a woman during a consent search and she stated that she had bought the drugs from Sprayberry.
Warrant: Man violated conditional bond, resisted arrest
A Rome man was arrested at his North Avery Road residence recently on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated stalking and four counts of felony obstruction of officers.
According to the warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Matthew Allen Wagner was under a court order to have no contact with a woman but was found living inside her residence.
Wagner admitted that he had been staying there since October.
He then physically resisted arrest after being instructed multiple times not to resist.
