It’s almost time for an annual after-holiday tradition.
Bring One for the Chipper is this Saturday, January 6.
The annual Christmas tree recycling program is sponsored statewide by Keep Georgia Beautiful and locally by Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful.
You can take those live Christmas trees, minus the decorations, to the Home Depot parking lot on Hicks Drive from 10 a.m. until noon.
You will get a free seedling in return.
Despite the name, a lot of the trees never actually make it to the chipper.
Many become fish habitats in local lakes.
