A Rome teen has been charged in a home invasion that occurred back on November 18 at an apartment on Smith Street.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Treylin Maleek Burge was brandishing a firearm when he took a purse from a woman inside the apartment.
The purse contained approximately $4,000 in cash.
Burge is charged with 1st-degree home invasion, 1st-degree burglary, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the incident.
He has also been charged with possession of a handgun by someone under the age of 18, reckless conduct, and obstruction of officers in connection with an incident on December 1 on Brookwood Avenue.
Jail records state that Burge fired a pistol in a populated area and then hindered the investigation by lying to police.
