The community gathered Tuesday morning for Rome’s Veterans Day Parade, which began on Broad Street and continued to Myrtle Hill for the 2025 Veterans Day program (hosted by the Exchange Club of Rome).
Master Sgt. Bill Sunrich served as this year’s Grand Marshal, and local high school marching bands and community groups took part, honoring every branch of the U.S. military.
At Myrtle Hill, retired U.S. Army Special Forces Captain and Green Beret Joe Adams delivered the keynote address.
WWII Navy veteran Roy Gilreath Sr., 99, was also recognized at the 2025 Veterans Day program ahead of his 100th birthday on November 19th.
A ceremonial wreath-laying followed, paying tribute to local veterans from every era.
