Woman accused of assaulting a man with a knife
A West Rome woman was arrested on Sunday in connection with an alleged assault at her Alpine Court residence.
According to Floyd County jail records:
35-year-old Victorian Lashonda Redwine assaulted a man with a weapon and damaged his cell phone.
Redwine also used a large knife to stab the bed.
She is charged with aggravated assault and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.
Report: Woman admitted to drinking as she tried to pick up child from school
A West Rome woman is accused of disrupting a public school.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Jamarla Shenae McKinney went to Johnson School on Morrison Campground Road to pick up a child, and told the principal that she had been drinking.
The principal refused to release the child to McKinney, and things got physical, with McKinney putting her hands on the principal’s shoulders, leaving a red mark.
The incident was witnessed by the child.
An open container of alcohol was later located in McKinney’s vehicle.
She is also charged with 3rd-degree cruelty to children, battery, and open container.
Man accused of resisting, fighting officers
A South Rome man is charged with unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution and simple battery against a law enforcement officer following his arrest on Friday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Calvin Lamar Richardson Jr. was initially arrested after he entered a store on North Division Street, acting in a tumultuous manner and making the store clerk fear for her safety.
He refused to leave the property and then poured a Mountain Dew on a police officer.
Once at the jail, Richardson refused to get out of the patrol vehicle.
He then resisted and fought with officers, one of whom sustained a cut to his elbow during the scuffle.
Richardson is additionally charged with simple battery, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.
Report: Man pushed police officer
A Garden Lakes man was arrested at his Harrison Road home on Saturday and charged with felony obstruction of officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
57-year-old Eric Roger Sobel pushed a police officer.
Prior to the physical altercation, Sobel made statements insinuating that he was going to cause physical harm to the officer.
Man charged with theft by conversion
An Armuchee man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with theft by conversion.
According to the warrant:
41-year-old Timothy Jacob Morgan took a woman’s 2010 Subaru Legacy back on June 4, under the guise that he would perform mechanic work for $300.
In total, Morgan was paid $1,143 for parts and services.
Then, in November, he stopped responding to the woman’s requests to get her vehicle back.
The vehicle was moved from Morgan’s shop to an unknown location sometime between November and January.
Man charged with criminal damage to property
An Armuchee man is accused of damaging a washing machine belonging to BBM Coin Laundry on North Broad Street back on January 17.
According to an arrest warrant:
40-year-old Billy Ray Justice caused over $800 in damage to parts of the washing machine by kicking it.
He is charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.
RFMTF arrests man on drug charge
Rome Floyd-Metro Task Force Officers arrested a West Rome man on drug charges over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
38-year-old William Tracy Duvall fled to his neighbor’s house as officers were executing a search warrant at his Williamson Street residence.
He was then found with a THC Vape pen.
Duvall is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor obstruction.
Woman charged with meth possession
A West Rome woman was arrested at her Williamson Street home over the weekend on a felony count of possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Summer Chantel Burdette was found with suspected methamphetamine.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop on Sunday ended with the arrest of a Lindale man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Austin James Mills was stopped after it was seen traveling almost in the center of a two-lane road.
Mills was holding his cell phone in his hand and admitted that he had smoked marijuana in his vehicle the night before.
A probable cause search turned up five pre-rolled marijuana cigarillos and a crystal-like substance identified as methamphetamine.
Mills is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, distracted driving, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Man charged with meth possession
A South Rome man was jailed on drug charges over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Terry Clifford Goodman was found with suspected methamphetamine during a search as officers were executing an active warrant.
Goodman is also charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to appear in court.
