It’ll be a great weekend for those who like barbecue and bacon.
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will hold its Backyard BBQ Bash at Ridgeferry Park on Saturday.
Come out for a must-see event featuring barbecue sampling, people’s choice voting, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and more.
Parking for the event is five dollars per car and card only.
Sampling bracelets for the barbecue are five dollars and limited to one per person.
Gates open at 10 a.m. Sampling begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2:30 p.m., or when sampling bracelets or barbecue is almost gone. To ensure you get to taste some great barbecue, make sure you arrive by 10 a.m. to buy your bracelet and taste some meat before it’s all gone.
Be sure to check out the arts and crafts vendors along with food trucks that are scheduled to set up with a variety of items and goodies. You never know what you might find.

First-place winners for both pork and chicken: $300
Second-place winners for both pork and chicken: $200
Overall Winner: Total points combined in both pork and chicken categories *Must compete in People’s Choice to be considered for Overall Winner.
First Place: $500
Please note that all prize money is calculated on number of teams participating and could change depending on number of teams.
People’s Choice:
First, second and third places for People’s Choice Voting in pork will receive trophies and recognition.

Bacon Fest in Cave Spring
Come join us in beautiful downtown Cave Spring at historic Rolater Park for a full day of ALL THINGS BACON!
Enjoy food vendors serving up delicious bacon-inspired creations, plus a bacon tasting competition. The first 100 patrons in line at the tasting pavilion will receive tickets to sample bacon, bacon-flavored, and bacon-inspired dishes. (Tickets available starting at 11:00 AM.)
The fun doesn’t stop there—stick around for a car show, People’s Choice judging, a DJ, arts and crafts vendors, and a 50/50 raffle.

- People’s Choice Car Show Judging: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- People’s Choice Bacon Tasting: First 100 in line at the tasting pavilion at 11 am
