Man charged with possession of cocaine
An East Rome man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop for an improper lane change on Second Avenue at West First Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
51-year-old Randy Lamar Clowers II was seen throwing plastic baggies into the roadway as he was being pulled over.
The baggies contained suspected crack cocaine, packaged for resale.
Clowers is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, and a probation violation.
Report: Man found with stolen firearm
A traffic stop for a window tint violation ended with the arrest of an East Rome man on a felony charge of theft by receiving stolen property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Floydell Quinchard Smith had a stolen Glock firearm in the glovebox of the vehicle.
It was located during a probable cause search that resulted from a K9 indication.
Less than an ounce of marijuana was also located in Smith’s pocket.
Once at the jail, marijuana that Smith tried to hide in the patrol vehicle was found.
Smith is additionally charged with possession of drugs by an inmate, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and driving without a license.
Man accused of signing brother’s name to traffic citation in 2021
A man from Hobart, Indiana, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on a felony identity fraud charge.
According to the arrest warrant:
30-year-old Gurpreet Singh used his brother’s name during a traffic stop on Turner McCall Boulevard in November of 2021.
Singh also signed his brother’s name to the citation.
