-News Release-
The Children’s Museum of Rome will host its 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck, a hands-on, family-friendly event this weekend.
This year’s event, presented by Saint Mary’s Catholic School, is on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.
Families are invited to explore over 30 vehicles up close, including emergency response units, construction equipment, and specialty vehicles, giving kids the chance to climb, touch, and discover how these vehicles work in a safe, engaging environment.
To ensure an inclusive experience for all, the event will begin with a Sensory Hour from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, sponsored by ActiveKidz Therapy.
During this time, lights and sounds will be minimized to create a calmer environment for children with sensory sensitivities.
Beyond the trucks, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including inflatables, face painting, food vendors, and more, making it a full morning of entertainment for the whole family.
A highlight of the event is the “Dunk A Hero” dunking booth, where friendly competition heats up between local police and fire departments for a good cause.
Pricing is $5 for 3 throws or $25 for an automatic dunk.
Participating “Heroes” include:
Police Team:
- Dave Roberson
- Ghee Wilson
- Jacob Pledger
- Luke Lamb
- Michael Poster
Fire Team:
- Brad Roberson
- Grant Collier
- David Grindstaff
- Lance Estes
- Dallas Adams
All proceeds from the dunking booth will support the Children’s Museum.
General Admission is $5 per person and children under 2 are free.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at: https://givebutter.com/CMOR_Truck26
