Floyd County Police have released the accident report for a crash that shut down Highway 140 at Ervin Coker Road for several hours on Tuesday morning.
According to the report:
Traffic was backed up due to a previous crash in the eastbound lane.
An eastbound Dodge Ram slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting a car that had stopped and traveled into the westbound lane.
It struck a westbound 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer head-on.
The driver of the Ram, 37-year-old Christian Aynley Brown of Harvest, Alabama, and the driver of the Peterbilt, 60-year-old Michael Freeman of Cartersville, were both transported for treatment of injuries.
Two vehicles, a 2011 Nissan Altima and a 2020 Lexus RX350 that the Ram was towing, also sustained damage.
