82-year-old convicted sex offender arrested
An 82-year-old North Rome man is accused of failing to comply with Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry law.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Antonio Manuel Cervantes failed to notify the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office within 72 hours of his move from North Broad Street to Watters Street sometime in 2025.
Cervantes was convicted in 1998 of multiple counts, including aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
Report: Convicted sex offender failed to notify authorities of new phone
A West Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry law.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
50-year-old Dehaan Hubbard Graves failed to notify the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office that he had obtained a new phone sometime around May of this year.
Graves is also charged with a felony probation violation.
Woman charged with meth possession
A Rome woman was arrested on a methamphetamine possession charge during a traffic stop on Georgia Loop One at Turner Chapel Road on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Sharleigh Ellena Watkins was found with meth as she was being arrested on a warrant for contempt of superior court.
She was also found to be driving with suspended registration and a suspended license.
