Man accused of spying on child
A Calhoun man was arrested on Tuesday at his Everett Springs Road home on charges of child molestation, unlawful eavesdropping or surveillance, and peeping Tom.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Zachary Joe Shortnancy placed a cell phone camera under a wall and recorded a 10-year-old child getting dressed in her room.
Search warrant leads to drug arrest
An East Rome man was jailed on Tuesday on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
During the execution of a search warrant at the East 10th Street home of 57-year-old Tyrone Holloway, officers located multiple rocks of crack cocaine, packaging materials, a razor blade, and multiple muscle relaxer pills.
Holloway is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.
Report: Man damaged landscape lighting downtown
A homeless man was arrested on Broad Street on Tuesday and charged with a felony count of interference with government property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Joseph Harmon damaged and detached landscape lighting in the 500 block of Broad Street by kicking it.
The lighting is the property of the City of Rome.
Woman accused of fighting with police, damaging property with alcohol
A Rome woman was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly fighting with police at her East Eighth Street apartment.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Amber Rachel Rymer refused to follow police commands, charged at officers twice, took up an aggressive stance and attempted to knee or kick officers.
Rymer also poured a man’s alcohol, valued at $82, onto the floor.
She also poured alcohol on the victim’s phone and was yelling loud enough to be heard by neighbors.
Rymer is charged with felony obstruction of law enforcement, battery, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass (damage to property), and a probation violation.
