WRGA Staff Reports –
The Rome City Commission held a public hearing Monday evening on the proposed 2025 tax millage rates.
The city’s portion is set at 8.15 mills, and the Rome City Schools rate is proposed at 18.10 mills, for a combined total of 26.25 mills.
While the combined rate remains the same as last year, it represents a 2.7% increase over the rollback rate of 25.56 mills.
For a home valued at $250,000, the proposed rates would result in a tax bill of about $2,625—roughly $69 more than the rollback estimate.
Two more hearings are scheduled for July 24 at 10 AM and July 28 at 6:30 PM.
