Man accused of molesting child
A man who lives in the Beech Creek subdivision has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery.
According to the warrants:
46-year-old Jeremy Alan Painter molested a female under the age of 16 between January 1 and June 27 of this year at an undisclosed location in Floyd County.
The molestation caused the victim physical pain, according to the warrants.
Painter also made the child touch him in an appropriate manner.
Report: Man fled from police in stolen vehicle
A South Rome man is accused of fleeing from police as they tried to stop him for driving a stolen vehicle in West Rome on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Aden Ingram drove from lane to lane at a high rate of speed, and at one point, crossed into oncoming traffic.
He hit several curbs before driving into a field, disabling the vehicle.
He jumped out but was apprehended on Huffaker Road at Brookstone Drive.
Ingram is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, theft by receiving stolen property, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, and driving without a license.
Man facing charges following incident at jail
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing felony charges after a scuffle with jail staff on Wednesday.
According to jail records:
28-year-old Brian Lee Kyle resisted officers and a deputy.
He also failed to obey commands and made threats to kill them.
Kyle is charged with unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, terroristic threats and acts, and a misdemeanor count of obstruction.
Columbus man accused of stalking local woman
A 34-year-old man from Columbus, Georgia, is facing a felony aggravated stalking charge in Floyd County.
According to an arrest warrant:
Gurpreet Kaur Singh violated a conditional bond by calling a woman multiple times.
The bond specified that he have no contact with the victim.
Singh is also charged with failure to appear in court.
