Woman charged with felony shoplifting
A Rome woman is accused of shoplifting from the same store four times.
According to the arrest warrants:
57-year-old Sally Mae Ferguson stole $78 from Ulta Beauty on Turner McCall Boulevard in January.
She then stole $148 in merchandise in February and $330 in goods in May.
The final theft occurred in July and involved $455 in merchandise.
Ferguson is charged with felony theft by taking.
Two arrested on drugs, weapons charges
Two people were arrested on Timothy Avenue in Summerville Park late last week on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Jose Luis Cornejo Jr. and 19-year-old Ricky Nunez were found in possession of THC.
A handgun was also located inside a pouch in their vehicle.
Both are charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Nunez also claimed ownership of marijuana was also located in the vehicle and was additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Traffic stop results in drug arrest
A 61-year-old East Rome woman was arrested last week on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of drug-related objects following a traffic stop at East 12th and Maple Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Debra Alice Dodd was initially stopped for suspended registration and driving with no insurance.
A K9 indication led to a search that turned up synthetic marijuana and two glass pipes with cocaine residue.
Homeless man accused of entering vacant home
A homeless man is facing a 1st-degree burglary charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
50-year-old Norman Eugene Cammack entered a vacant residence on Avenue B on Thursday of last week.
Property valued at $62 was stolen.
Cammack is also being held on a probation violation.
