Man arrested in garden hoe attack
A homeless man is accused of injuring another man with a garden hoe earlier this week.
According to an arrest warrant:
56-year-old Eugene Lamar Poole Jr. attacked the victim with the lawn tool, leaving a severe laceration to the man’s right arm.
The incident occurred on Monday at a location on Cottage Circle in West Rome.
Poole is charged with a felony count of aggravated battery.
Man charged with auto theft
A man being sought in connection with the theft of a vehicle is in custody.
According to an arrest warrant:
53-year-old Michael Scott Gilmore of Plymouth, Massachusetts, took a 2020 Dodge Ram belonging to a Centre, Alabama woman from a location on Martha Berry Highway in Rome.
The theft occurred on Tuesday, and the pickup truck is valued at more than $2,000.
Gilmore is charged with a felony count of theft by taking.
Report: Man exposed himself at bus station
A homeless man has been charged with public indecency following an incident on May 1 in Downtown Rome.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old James Lincoln Lowe exposed himself at the Rome Transit Department on East First Street, and made no attempt to hide himself, and even walked several steps with his privates in public view.
