Man charged with fleeing or attempting to elude
A Rome man was arrested on Alabama Highway after allegedly fleeing from police.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Hamilton Giovanni Real-Hernandez failed to stop for police who were attempting to pull him over after he was clocked going 67 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
Once stopped, a search of the vehicle turned up two suspected THC vapes.
He had three open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle, along with rolling papers, grinders, and scales.
Real-Hernandez is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, open container, driving under the influence of multiple substances, speeding, reckless driving, and a window tint violation.
Man accused of failing to stop for GSP
A North Rome man is facing a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude following his arrest on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Sabrion Tavius Macobe Green attempted to elude a Georgia State Trooper on Holmes Avenue as the trooper was trying to pull him over for a faulty headlight and a broken taillight.
Marijuana was then located in the vehicle.
Green is additionally charged with speeding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, a window tint violation, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Man charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
A man arrested on May 26 on a battery charge and a probation violation is facing additional charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A search warrant was executed at the Morton Bend Road residence of 35-year-old Sam Newit Richardson Jr. and seven firearms were located.
Richardson is a convicted felon and is on probation.
Marijuana was also located in an ashtray on the back porch.
Richardson is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
