As part of the district’s Reimagine RCS 2030 strategic vision, the Rome City Schools board of education approved Superintendent Dr. Eric L. Holland’s recommendation to name Marores Perry the Chief Executive Officer of the Rome College and Career Academy (CCA) and Director of Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE).
The recommendation represents a significant milestone in the evolution of Rome City Schools’ workforce development efforts and reinforces the district’s commitment to its CTAE mission: “Prepared For Work.”
“Rome City Schools is committed to ensuring every student graduates with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and opportunities necessary to succeed in an ever-changing workforce,” said Dr. Holland. “Ms. Perry brings a unique combination of proven academy leadership, business engagement, workforce development expertise, and a deep commitment to student success. She is the right leader to guide the Rome College and Career Academy into its next chapter.”
Since joining Rome City Schools in January 2023 as Director of CTAE and Student Services, Perry has led efforts to strengthen career pathways, expand business and industry partnerships, increase student opportunities, and align educational programming with workforce demands across Northwest Georgia.
Perry’s experience includes previously serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Paulding College and Career Academy, where she successfully led academy operations, strategic planning initiatives, and workforce partnership development. Her extensive background spans more than two decades in educational leadership, including service as a CTAE Director, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, and classroom educator.
As CEO, Perry will be responsible for leading the Rome College and Career Academy’s strategic vision and operations while strengthening partnerships among business and industry leaders, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations. Her leadership will focus on ensuring students graduate with industry-recognized credentials, meaningful workplace experiences, and clear pathways to employment, military service, technical education, or college.
Under Perry’s leadership, the Rome College and Career Academy will continue advancing the district’s workforce readiness framework centered on three levels of readiness:
• Skill Ready – Industry certifications and technical competencies
• Mindset Ready – Professionalism, communication, accountability, and reliability
• Future Ready – Adaptability, problem-solving, innovation, and global awareness
“Prepared For Work is more than a slogan, it is a promise to our students, families, business partners, and community,” said Dr. Holland. “The Rome College and Career Academy exists to bridge education and workforce opportunities so that every student leaves our district ready for success. Ms. Perry’s leadership will help us strengthen that promise and continue building a talent pipeline that supports both our students and our local economy.”
Perry currently serves as President-Elect of the Georgia Council for Career and Technical Administrators (GCCTA), Vice President of the Georgia Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (GALAS), and maintains active leadership roles with numerous workforce development and business organizations throughout the region.
