Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jaeson Smith has released a 12-page report regarding the shooting of a donkey by a Cedartown Police Officer.
The report, which clears the officer, cites discussions with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, “Issues with probable cause reports,” and the donkey’s demeanor leading up to the shooting.
Just after midnight on August 30, officers entered a pasture searching for a missing person
Officers claim that the donkey named “Hee-Haw” ran up to them braying, and they thought they were in danger, so they shot and killed him after trying to taze him.
